For the past ten weeks, South Orangetown Middle School sixth-graders have been participating in the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program in conjunction with the Orangetown Police Department.

OPD officers visited ELA classes one day a week to discuss how students can use the R.E.A.L (Refuse, Explain, Avoid or Leave) strategies when faced with tough choices.
