At the annual NY Blood Center Luncheon on October 3, Tappan Zee High School was honored with a 2016 Diamond Award based on the number of blood donations received for the year. “The huge number of donations received required not only the hard work and dedication of the Blood Team, but the constant support and cooperation of students, staff, and the entire community who comes out to support the critical call for blood supply,” said TZHS School Nurse and Blood Team advisory Judy Flagg. “This is a community effort, without which TZ could not achieve this degree of success.”
A Unity Blood Drive will be held Thursday, November 2 in honor of the thousands of lives that were affected by one of many recent tragedies. A call for support was answered by NY Blood Center to assist with the overwhelming and unexpected need for blood. In this uncertain world, and with the known high demand for blood during the holiday season, the community is once again being called upon–this time, in a movement of worldwide support and UNITY. Together we can!
