Tappan Zee High School’s own South Orangetown BOTZ (Team #6911) will compete against more than 40 teams in the Hudson Valley Regional FIRST Robotics Competition at Rockland Community College on March 23-25.
This year’s competition is designed around the POWERUP challenge released on January 6 (click to view the video). Teams have just 6 weeks to conceptualize and build their robot for competition.
To meet the challenge, SO BOTZ members are working 18+ hours per week on design/build, programming and marketing/communications teams led by Tappan Zee High School teachers and advisors Karen Connell, Barbara Murphy and Kathy Moore and several industry mentor volunteers.
The Hudson Valley Regional FRC Competition is free and open to the public. For more information, visit https://www.nycfirst.org/frc.
