Tappan Zee High School artists swept the 16th Annual Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Art Poster Competition sponsored by Mandel, Katz & Brosnan, LLP in partnership with the Center for Safety & Change. The contest aims to raise awareness of the issues of domestic, dating and sexual violence.
An Nguyen captured first place and a $500 prize for her piece, “Break the Cycle of Abuse” (below). Honorable mentions ($100 each) were earned by: Eujin Kate Lee, “Women are Not Toys”; Hannah Jung, “Reach Out to Hope”; Carly Reiner, “Violence against Women”; and, Helena Padial, “Silence ≠ Consent.” Tappan Zee High School was awarded $250 as the competition’s winning school.
Students entries will be exhibited at a June 3 reception at Mandel, Katz & Brosnan, LLP. More photos on Facebook.
