Yesterday afternoon, Superintendent Dr. Robert Pritchard led a public ceremony at Tappan Zee High School to remember three Class of 1966 alumni who were killed during their tours of duty in Vietnam. Charlie Maushardt (TZHS ’69), a member of the Nam Knights and Raymond W. DeMeola VFW Post 1615, shared his memories of U.S. Army Sgt. Raymond Warren DeMeola, U.S. Army Sgt. Joseph Edward Hartz and U.S. Army SP4 Robert Albert Hagan, Jr. Town of Orangetown Supervisor Chris Day and Rockland County Government Legislator Aney Paul also addressed community members who gathered for this special event, which was part of the TZHS Blood Drive Team’s year-end community blood drive honoring veterans.

Thanks to all who have contributed to the community blood drives this year! Mark your calendars: The next TZHS blood drive for the New York Blood Center will be Thursday, September 19.
