Puppets Mr. Tooth and Ally the Alligator helped local dentist Jonathan Gellis teach participants in today’s PreK Playgroups about healthy dental habits! February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and these special sessions were designed to ensure that our youngest community members take good care of their bright smiles. Gellis described how sugary foods can cause cavities, demonstrated proper brushing technique–with help from Ally and Mr. Tooth–and emphasized the importance of regular check-ups.

“The Family Engagement Center is focused on providing whole-child and whole-family support,” noted FEC Coordinator AJ Walker. “National Children’s Dental Health Month offered the perfect opportunity to invite Dr. Gellis and his puppet friends in to promote proper dental hygiene for our preschoolers in a fun way!”
