South Orangetown Central School District

The South Orangetown Central School District welcomed Michelle Stevens as its new Coordinator of Transportation, effective June 18. Stevens is responsible for the transport of district students and oversight of contracted transportation services.

This role marks a promotion for Stevens, who has served as a primary contact for District families and directly assisted with school bus routing and field trip transportation as Principal Clerk in the Transportation Department since 2017.

“As part of our succession planning, Michelle Stevens has been an integral part of our student transportation services for several years. She has a keen understanding of our community and very often is the first voice families hear when they seek assistance, need questions answered or express concerns,” said Executive Director for Finance and Management Services Alicia Koster. “She brings strong leadership and communication skills to the Coordinator position, along with solid experience in school bus routing. We are very fortunate to have Michelle in this supervisory position and look forward to her continued efforts to enhance transportation services for our students.”

Stevens’ office is in the Greenbush Academy building on Western Highway. She may be reached at (845) 680-1663 or transportation@socsd.org.
