Members of the Tappan Zee High School Student Organization raised a record $500 to support People-to-People’s annual Project Joy drive which provides gifts for low-income families in Rockland County. Donations were used to purchase twenty $25 gift cards to bring “tidings of comfort and joy” to local children in need. “As young people, we take a lot for granted,” said SO President Hannah Lustig, a senior. “We’ve been supporting Project Joy every year and it’s a great way to give back to the local community.”
Tenth-grade delegate Liam Boyle volunteered at the Project Joy event last year. “This program has a direct impact on families during the holidays. It was really heartwarming to see.”
