Fourteen South Orangetown students were named 2021 RCC Black Achievement Award winners and honored in a virtual celebration last evening. Congratulations to:
Tappan Zee High School: Hillary Abankwa, David Alexandre, Rachel Alexandre and Gabriella Picott
South Orangetown Middle School: Michael Appiah, Bella Atristain, Oliver Dejean, Pilar Fernandez, Nina Gill, Xavier Leveille, Ezra Olds-Campanile, Denise Omar, Debbie Solomon and Uri Richardson
“We are extremely proud of our students who were honored during the ceremony. More importantly, we are thankful for their contributions to our school community,” said TZHS Principal Rudy Arietta.
The RCC Black Achievement Awards are presented each year to Rockland County students from the Black/African Diaspora in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 who have achieved an academic average of 90% or greater and demonstrated outstanding participation and accomplishments in at least two of the following categories: community service, artistic expression, athletics, leadership, and personal triumph and success.
