The TZ Players will return to the stage for live performances of “Leonard Bernstein’s New York” on Thursday, June 3 and Friday, June 4! Performances are scheduled for 8PM both nights in the Tappan Zee High School auditorium.
“I don’t know if any of us thought we would have the opportunity to host a live performance this year. We are all thrilled that we are able to do so,” said Principal Rudy Arietta. “Our students and staff have been incredibly patient and optimistic as we have gone through the year. They were determined to put on a show no matter what, but the fact that it will be in person with a live audience is more than we ever thought we could do. I can’t wait to see the performance! It is one of many events we have going on that will help us end the year on a high note.”
The revue features songs from Bernstein’s most memorable musicals, including “On the Town,” “Wonderful Town” and “West Side Story.” The cast will sing and dance along to a live orchestra composed of student-musicians.
In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, capacity is limited. Seating will be pre-assigned to meet New York State social distancing guidelines for live performances. Masking and temperature screening is required; audience members will also be required to sign in for contact tracing purposes.
Ticket prices are $10.00 for general admission, $8.00 for students and senior citizens. Tickets may be preordered by emailing Director Priscilla Peña-Carney (ppenacarney@socsd.org) or purchased with cash or check payable to “SOCSD” at the door or after school in the auditorium lobby on May 27, June 1 and June 2.
