Building and district administrators and faculty members of SOCSD’s Extended Leadership Team met today to reflect on the past school year before digging into data to kick off goal-setting for 2021-22. “It’s time to leave the past 16 months behind and move forward,” said Superintendent Robert Pritchard, Ed.D. “Today is the day we move forward and this is where we start. It’s no longer about reopening, we’re going back to school. It’s ‘welcome back” for September.”
In addition to a continued focus on Every Student Succeeds Act accountability measures, including chronic absenteeism, academic achievement, student growth and school progress and college and career readiness, team members emphasized the importance of balancing rigor and support and seeking innovations that are aligned with school and district goals.
Today’s meeting was the first step in an annual, data-informed process. School and district teams will develop and finalize goals for the coming year over the weeks ahead.
