Kathleen Moore was approved by the Board of Education as Acting Assistant Principal at Tappan Zee High School effective October 8, 2021. She has assumed the duties of Richard Neidhart, who is on temporary leave, until his anticipated return in November.

Moore, a seasoned educator with more than 15 years of experience, has served as a mathematics teacher at Tappan Zee High School since 2006. In addition to her teaching role, Moore was Dean of Students from 2014 through 2019 and provided administrative support for student affairs, including discipline, liaising between school and community resources and mediation of peer/classroom issues. As Instructional Technology Coach (2009-2015), she led professional development and supported teacher implementation of problem-based learning. Moore is a member of the high school’s Data Inquiry Team and has served on the Extended Leadership, Master Scheduling and Child Study teams. Prior to joining the District, she was the Director of Clinical Services for Capabilities Partnership for 10 years.

Moore holds a Bachelor of Clinical Social Work degree from Ramapo College, a Master of Clinical Social Work degree with specialization in children and families from Fordham University, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Secondary Mathematics and New York State certifications for School Building Leader and School District Leader.
