Transporting students to and from school safely every day is our top priority. South Orangetown’s Transportation Coordinator ensures that its buses meet all safety standards and that all drivers meet state and federal licensing and training requirements.
Bus routes are created with student safety as a top priority. All questions regarding bus routes should be directed to the Transportation Coordinator. Bus companies will not make route changes.
To request transportation to or from a location other than your child’s registered address, an Alternate Site Request Form must be completed and submitted to the Transportation Office by July 30 in order to have alternate transportation in place for the start of school. Requests received after the deadline will not take effect until after the first two weeks of school. Please allow 72 hours for requests made after the first two weeks of the school year to take effect. Forms may be submitted via email.
To request transportation to a non-public school, a Request for Transportation to Private School Form must be submitted via email to the Registration Office by April 1 for the next school year. Please note that the district does not provide pupil transportation to non-public schools on these dates.
William O. Schaefer Elementary School parents: If an adult other than a parent will receive your child at the bus stop, you must provide submit a completed and signed Bus Designee Form to the Transportation Office via email.
