School Safety and Security Procedures

Dear Parents,

This letter serves to detail the security procedures Dr. Mitchell outlined in his letter of January 25th to the community as they pertain to Tappan Zee High School and our priority to keep all of our students and staff safe.

Please enter Tappan Zee High School through the main entrance of the building. The main entrance will be locked at all times. Therefore, all visitors to the building must ring the buzzer at the main entrance in order to gain entrance. A guard is on duty at the main entrance from 7am-8pm during which time he or she will buzz you in. When you enter the building please proceed directly to the security desk, where you must provide ID and sign in.

When dropping off your child, please remain in the bus lane and pull all the way up the circle, do not stop at the main entrance door. Also, note that no student will be allowed in the building prior to 7am, nor are students permitted so remain on campus unsupervised at any time or re-enter the building without an appointment with a member of our staff. Even more importantly, please follow the security guards directions.
