Welcome to
Tappan Zee High School.
A
new school year is an opportunity for a
fresh start. As I have shared with students
this fall, we have an opportunity to make
this year a great one, and it all begins
with the choices we make each day. We
encourage each of our students to get
involved and to take full advantage to the
resources available to them each day, some
of which are as follows:

An academically strong curriculum
spanning from Regents through AP level
coursework to provide an appropriate
challenge for each student;

Diverse coursework to spark each
learner’s areas of interest;

A tremendous music, art, and theatre
program to foster self-confidence and
personal development, as well as to
showcase the tremendous talents our
students possess;

An extensive network of student clubs
and extra-curricular activities for
those interested in community service,
social issues, science, foreign language
and culture, a content-specific focus,
or the arts.

An expanded Project Lead the Way program
to promote opportunities for our future
engineers;

A foreign language learning lab equipped
with student computers to compliment
classroom instruction and enhance
language acquisition and cultural
awareness;

enhance the curriculum and your child’s
learning process;
SMART Board technology in every
classroom;

A growing use of problem-based learning
that recognizes and applies various
technologies in a learner-active
classroom;
