The South Orangetown Central School District is hosting a New York Blood Center community blood drive on Thursday, November 1 in honor of the 105th Airlift Wing and 106th Rescue Wing units of the New York Air National Guard and the New York Army National Guard for their response to aid victims of Hurricanes Sandy, Maria, Florence and Michael. The drive will be held in the Tappan Zee High School Gym, 8:30am-8:30pm, and all students*, staff and community members ages 16 and older are welcome. Walk-ins are welcome, but donors may also sign-up online at www.nybloodcenter.org.
A ceremony to recognize the military honorees will be held at 6:30pm. The event is free and open to the public.
*All student donors require parental permission.* Students may sign up during physical education class or visit the sign-up table during lunch periods to obtain the student brochure which contains the required permission form.
