Tappan Zee High School senior Katelyn Lange is the November South Orangetown Rotary Club Student of the Month! Katelyn is hardworking and is an admirable person. She has achieved Exceptional Honor Roll throughout high school and is a member of the National, Science, and Italian Honor Societies, as well as a Student Organization class delegate.
Katelyn is an active participant in extra-curricular activities and community service. She has been training and volunteering with the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps since freshman year. Her many hours on call inspired her to become a nurse or physician assistant. Katelyn earned the Girl Scouts of America Silver Award for projects including coordination of a clean-up and construction of a bench at Camp Venture in Sparkill. She coaches recreational basketball for St. Catherine’s CYO League and volunteers for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church’s fundraisers. As a member of Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse, Katelyn positively influences younger students to make positive decisions. Katelyn has also distinguished herself as a runner and has received many accolades for her accomplishments, including the 2018 Outdoor Track Team Most Valuable Player and the Indoor Track Coaches Award.
