The South Orangetown Central School District administrative team is seeking input from staff, parents and community members about its communications and community engagement efforts to help inform the next steps of its Strategic Planning process.
Over the past year, SOCSD has been working to enhance support for parents as informed and engaged partners in their children’s education and to reach out to community members interested in getting involved and keeping up on school district news. They hope to hear from participants about preferred methods for accessing school district information, information topics of interest, and any barriers experienced in understanding, navigating or getting involved with our schools. Feedback will help to shape the district’s communications and community engagement efforts.
The district is using Thoughtexchange, a web-based tool, to gather input. Participants will be asked to respond to one open-ended question, and to consider and assign stars to “vote” on ideas shared by others. Thoughts and stars are confidential. Ratings will help us identify areas that matter most to our parents and community members.
SOCSD wants to hear from you. Click here to participate in English | Español (links removed February 16) . The deadline to participate is Friday, February 15.
Here are some quick tips to get started:
- Participants are asked to enter the exchange to share their thoughts and be sure to explain why each thought is important.
- Participants are also asked to consider and rate the thoughts of others using stars (30 is ideal).
- Thoughtexchange keeps confidential who shared each thought and rating.
- For technical help, contact Thoughtexchange at 1-800-361-9027 ext. 4 or email [email protected].
