Today was the 13th Annual COVE Fitness Challenge fundraiser at Tappan Zee High School! “The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of having a healthy body. Building strength and stamina is important in terms of helping our students prepare to navigate the community,” says Rockland BOCES/TZHS COVE teacher Bonnie McCort. “We make a fun day of it.”
TZHS COVE students, building administrators, families, and alumni, as well as participants from South Orangetown Middle School COVE program and Rockland BOCES’ district-based program at North Rockland High School were challenged to walk the track for at least 30 minutes. The closing awards ceremony recognized participation and was emceed by TZHS COVE Class President David and Vice President Milo.
Proceeds from the annual Fitness Challenge are used to fund program field trips throughout the year. More photos on Facebook.
