South Orangetown Central School District welcomes Jack Rallo as its new Director of Facilities, effective July 22. Mr. Rallo will oversee the daily upkeep and maintenance of school buildings and grounds to ensure a healthy, safe and positive learning environment for our students and staff, and one that is inviting to our community. Rallo will also assist Executive Director, Ms. Koster, with the development, coordination and completion of district renovation/replacement projects and capital projects that are aligned to the strategic plan. His appointment was approved by the Board of Education on July 2. Koster notes, “We are very fortunate to welcome Mr. Rallo to SOCSD. He brings extensive background of facilities maintenance, technical expertise and management experience to us, with a focus on connecting facilities management to teaching and learning.”
Prior to joining SOCSD, Mr. Rallo served for five years as the HVAC Technician/Maintenance Supervisor for Monroe-Woodbury School District, where he designed and coordinated multiple renovation projects and high-efficiency cooling and heating systems, and implemented a preventative maintenance program. An experienced HVAC/Electrical technician and master plumber, Mr. Rallo managed several multimillion dollar construction projects during his 16 years in the private sector as President/Owner of Gemini HVAC, Inc. (2011-2014) and HVAC Technician/Supervisor (1988-2011) at S.J. Valastro, Inc. (1988-2011). He holds an Associates Degree in Business Management from SUNY Orange. Mr. Rallo will report to the Executive Director, Ms. Alicia Koster.
