Congratulations to eighth-grader Kierra K., South Orangetown Middle School’s Jets Upstander of the Week! Her teachers say that Kierra is a natural leader who is always ready to take on new challenges. She is heavily involved in the music program, having volunteered last year to play the cello at SOMS’ “We the People” celebration and to perform in the pit for Tappan Zee High School’s musical. Congratulations, Kierra, and keep up the great work!
This is the third school year that South Orangetown Middle School has participated in the New York Jets and Stomp Out Bullying’s Upstander of the Week program, which aims to reduce and prevent bullying nationwide. Students recognized receive a t-shirt, two tickets to a Jets home game and a parking pass.
