South Orangetown Middle School/Rockland BOCES COVE students in Beth Doremus’ and Lori Higgins’ classes joined seventh- and eighth-grade peers during technology class this week to create laser-engraved holiday postcards! Technology students worked with their COVE partners to sand and paint the wooden cards, and program the CNC laser engraver to personalize their projects.
COVE students reported that meeting other SOMS students and doing a hands-on project together was a lot of fun. “I liked making it for my family for Christmas,” said Jordan.
“We sanded the postcard and I put my name on it,” Carson explained. “I love it.”
