As follow-up to last night’s notification regarding a positive COVID-19 case at South Orangetown Middle School confirmed this weekend, SOMS will operate on a fully-remote basis this week due to the number of staff impacted by quarantine. Classes will continue online as scheduled and weekly school meal pickup will run as usual.
In-person hybrid learning is expected to resume at SOMS on Monday, January 25.
Contact tracing will be completed by this evening. Those identified as contacts of the person who tested positive will be contacted by the District and may also receive a call from a Contact Tracer from the Department of Health.
For such calls, your caller ID may read “NYS Contact Tracing” or display a phone number with a 518 area code.
