If you were watching the news Friday afternoon, you may have noticed some familiar faces. Students in Tamara Greene and Lindsay Brown’s third-grade class at Cottage Lane Elementary School Zoomed with StormTeam4NY meteorologist Matt Brickman on Friday, as part of the station’s Weather Kids program and were featured in a short segment during the broadcast.
“In third grade science we investigate typical weather conditions expected during a particular season in a region of the world and how weather is connected to water processes in Earth systems,” explains Greene. “Our students explore weather and climate by analyzing daily weather forecasts and learning how weather affects us. We also investigate how scientists record weather patterns across different times and areas to make predictions.”
To prepare for the session, students brainstormed questions about weather and the role of a meteorologist. Thanks to NBC 4 New York for sharing the clip!
