The District was notified this evening that two individuals at Tappan Zee High School have tested positive for COVID-19. Exposure dates were determined to be Thursday, January 28; Friday, January 29; and today, February 3.
Our administrators are working collaboratively with the Rockland County Department of Health and cooperating with contact tracing efforts. Those who were identified as contacts of the persons who tested positive are being contacted by the District and may also receive a call from a Contact Tracer from the Department of Health. Contact tracing for both cases will be completed by tomorrow afternoon.
For such calls, your caller ID may read “NYS Contact Tracing” or display a phone number with a 518 area code.
- Please promptly answer these calls.
- Your identity and the information you share will remain confidential.
- Please provide Contact Tracers with the information they need to protect our entire School District community.
Tappan Zee High School will operate on a fully-remote basis Thursday, February 4, to allow for cleaning. Classes will be held virtually as scheduled.
