SOCSD will be hosting a Meet & Greet Zoom Room on Saturday, February 27, 1PM-4PM, as part of the Lower Hudson Council of School Personnel Administrators Diversity Teacher Job Fair. Prospective candidates will have the opportunity to speak with Director of Staff Relations Joseph Lloyd, Ph.D., Tappan Zee High School Principal Rudy Arietta and South Orangetown Middle School Principal Chad Corey, Ed.D.
“We always want to bring the best candidates to our school district and I’m looking forward to meeting and sharing our work with prospective applicants,” said Lloyd, who will also co-present a workshop on drafting effective cover letters and resumes at the virtual event. “It’s important that applicants know that SOCSD is working to promote equity, recognizes the importance of hiring a diverse staff and is a great place to work. We’re proactively pursuing new pipelines to bring candidates into South Orangetown and this event provides us with another source.”
The LHCSPA Diversity Teacher Job Fair is one of many outreach activities that local school districts are using to attract talent. Recruitment efforts are also underway through regional colleges, recruitment centers and the OLAS online platform.
Advance registration is required for this free event. More information is available at www.lhcspa.org/meet-greet
