South Orangetown Central School District

This afternoon, South Orangetown Middle School National Junior Honor Society President Elizabeth M. and Treasurer Jacob M. presented representatives from the Nyack Homeless Project with a $275 donation, the proceeds from a NJHS fundraiser this year. Members chose the local nonprofit as one of the charities they wished to support based on its ongoing efforts to serve people in need in our community.

The National Junior Honor Society celebrates academic excellence. Students in grades 7 and 8 who demonstrate a consistently high level of academic performance, including an average of at least 92, are invited to participate. Candidates must also demonstrate leadership, service, good character and citizenship and, through membership, are supported in further developing these qualities.
