Dear South Orangetown Families and Staff,
Earlier today, a letter written by New York State Commissioner of Health Howard Zucker, MD, JD to the Director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention seeking feedback regarding New York State’s “plan to align its school and camp mask guidance” was publicly released, generating media attention.
At this time, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has not issued new or updated guidance for schools. If and when revised NYSDOH guidance is issued, we will follow local, state and federal guidelines as we have throughout the course of the pandemic and communicate those updates to you.
