South Orangetown Central School District

Cottage Lane Elementary School is seeking alumni volunteers who’d like to share their college and/or career experiences with students during its second annual College and Career Week, January 18-22!

“At CLE, one of our goals this year is to continue to expose students to a variety of careers and increase awareness of higher education and vocabulary related to careers and college. Hearing about different career experiences will support this goal and help our students to gain an understanding of the different career and education paths,” explains Principal Karen Ramirez.

Assistant Principal Rob Schliessman adds, “Throughout the year, our important work continues, but by coming together, we put college, career and civic awareness on the forefront for one entire week. Throughout this week we offer activities and lessons to all students that supports this school goal.”

Interested? Please email Elementary School Counselor Stephanie Mueller at smueller@socsd.org with your name, year of high school graduation and a sentence or two about your college or career. If there is a particular CLE teacher who you’d like to reconnect with, include their name, too. It is anticipated that College and Career Week visits will be done virtually.
