Tappan Zee High School students enrolled in art teacher Leigh LaBrake’s Studio Art and Graphic Arts & Media Design courses are in the process of finalizing their midterm projects – using different principles and elements of design to create an original Battle Royale creation between monsters and robots!

“With this project, students really have the opportunity to let their imaginations run wild with the creation process,” said LaBrake. “Students have the option to complete their projects digitally or by hand, using a mix of materials of their choice. For Graphic Arts & Media Design students, it gives them the option to take a break from their computers and create graphic artwork by hand if they so choose. For Studio Art students, it offers the opportunity to work digitally for a change.”

Demonstrating the use of line, color, shape, focal point, movement and layering, the student-artists’ projects are created using a doodle art method which creates a visually full composition.
