South Orangetown Central School District

This afternoon, Governor Hochul announced updated guidelines for mask wearing in schools based on state COVID-19 data and the latest CDC guidance released on Friday.

Effective Wednesday, March 2, New York State will lift its statewide mask mandate for schools. Therefore, South Orangetown Central School District students, staff and/or visitors will have the right to determine whether or not to wear a mask inside our schools starting March 2.

Further updates will be provided as we review forthcoming guidance from the Governor in the coming days. In the meantime, as always, please help us keep our school community healthy by keeping your children home if they are sick or required to isolate/quarantine per Rockland County Department of Health COVID-19 guidance.
