Group of high school students in a music classroom

The Tappan Zee High School Music Department is thrilled to announce that six students have been selected as 2024 New York State School Music Association All-State musicians! They are:

  • Seniors: Angelique Cerbolles (vocal, Treble Chorus); Aaron Pakola (violin, String Orchestra); and Nate Prisco (French horn, Symphonic Band)
  • Juniors: Alison Lattimer (vocal, Mixed Chorus), Lukas Witek (violin, String Orchestra); and Esther Hwang (alternate: violin, String Orchestra)

“This prestigious recognition highlights the exceptional talent and dedication of our students,” noted TZHS Music Department Team Leader Bill Hughes. “Angelique, Aaron and Nate are returning to the festival for the second consecutive year, reflecting their continued excellence.”

The rigorous, in-person auditions for All-State ensembles took place last spring, drawing thousands of participants from across New York State. The TZHS students not only performed at the highest level of difficulty (Level VI), but also achieved a perfect score of 100, securing top rankings in their categories.

The selected students will participate in the All-State Festival in Rochester, December 5-8, where they will have the unique opportunity to rehearse with some of the nation’s leading conductors and perform at the renowned Eastman Theater.
Congratulations to our 2024 All-State musicians and to all of our SOCSD music teachers who have taught them over the years!
