Congratulations to the 21 Tappan Zee High School student-musicians selected to perform in the 2024 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Area All-State Festival at Suffern High School, November 22-23! Area All-State musicians were chosen from more than 2,500 applicants based on outstanding solo audition scores from the NYSSMA solo evaluation festival last spring.

The festival features approximately 250 student-musicians from Rockland County and five nearby counties. Rehearsals begin on Friday, November 22 and culminate with two concert performances on Saturday, November 23. These ensembles will be guided by guest conductors, all top professionals in the music field, from various parts of the United States. “The dedication and talent of our students is truly remarkable, and their selection for this festival is a testament to their hard work and passion for music. We are incredibly proud of them and excited for the opportunity to showcase their skills on such a prominent stage,” said TZHS Music Team Leader Bill Hughes.
