Budget
The South Orangetown Central School District 2026-27 school budget passed with 79% of the vote on Tuesday, May 19. The 2026-27 budget totals $116,688,270 and reflects a budget-to-budget increase of 1.21% and remains within the state-mandated cap with a 1.85% tax levy increase. In addition, voters approved Proposition 2 to authorize the use of existing capital reserve funds to construct a multipurpose athletic field at Tappan Zee High School and Proposition 3, which approves the funding of a repair reserve. Katie Gravino was re-elected and Leigh Ann Porette was elected to the Board of Education. Both seats carry three-year terms which begin July 1, 2026 and conclude June 30, 2029.
