Facilities
The Facilities Department supports student success by providing safe, healthy and inspiring learning environments. In this role, the department is responsible for the maintenance, planning, scheduling and upgrading of all school district buildings and grounds, including capital projects. Facilities staff possess expertise in trades, such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing, as well as landscaping/field maintenance, snow removal and custodial work.
Capital Projects
SOCSD is engaged in a comprehensive, capital master planning process that involves identifying critical systems and building infrastructure needs and incorporates long-term academic goals and enrollment projections.
Memorials
A policy pertaining to memorials on District grounds is currently under review by the Board of Education.
Facilities Use
Pets are not permitted on school grounds, with the exception of service animals.
The tennis courts at Tappan Zee High School are open for use by South Orangetown Central School District residents only from 6:00PM until dark on weekdays and on Saturdays from 12:00PM until dark. Please follow all rules and guidelines posted at the courts.
Use of any and all District facilities must be requested, approved and permitted in advance through the Facilities Office online via Master Library (ML) Schedules. New ML Schedules users should click on “Create an Account” to get started.
