28 Students Participate in RCMEA Junior and Jazz Instrumental All County Festivals

Last weekend, 28 SOCSD student-musicians performed in the Rockland County Music Educators Association Junior All-County and Contemporary/Jazz Instrumental All-County Music Festivals at Fieldstone Middle School! Twenty six SOMS and TZHS students performed as part of the Junior All-County Festival and two TZHS students participated in the Jazz Instrumental All-County Festival. Selections were based on the students’ outstanding solo audition scores from last spring’s New York State School Music Association solo evaluation festival.

The annual RCMEA festivals provide students with opportunities to perform with the best ensembles in the county with notable music professionals from across the United States. SOCSD students will also be performing in the RCMEA Intermediate All-County Music Festival later this month.
