Congratulations, TZHS Class of 2025!

Congratulations, TZHS Class of 2025!

“What an incredible sight you are: our future scientists, artists, leaders, innovators, and dreamers. Each of you has walked a unique path to this moment, a path that has undoubtedly had its share of twists, turns, and unexpected detours. You've navigated uncharted waters, faced down challenges with a resilience that truly sets you apart, and emerged here, stronger and more prepared than ever to embrace what lies ahead,” remarked Principal Melissa Luciano in her address at the Tappan Zee High School Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony this evening. “The world is waiting for your talents, your fresh ideas and your boundless compassion.”

A playlist of memories, surprises embraced and opportunities to seize were among the themes covered by hopeful speeches delivered by Valedictorian Olivia Ryan, Salutatorian Leah Jose and Class President Michael Hanebuth.

The ceremony also featured performances by the TZHS Concert Band, under the direction of Music Department Team Leader William Hughes, and senior choir members, conducted by Choral Director Russell Wagoner, DMA.

Luciano officially presented the Class of 2025 to Superintendent of Schools Brian Culot, Ed.D. and declared that its members had met graduation requirements.

“The connections you’ve made are yours to nurture and appreciate, especially after you graduate,” Culot advised. “Each of you Dutchmen standing here today has overcome difficult challenges through unprecedented times. We are so proud of all you have accomplished. Thank you for being such outstanding students and contributing so much to our entire school community.”

Class Secretary Haley An and Treasurer Ali Kolenovic read aloud the class roll as seniors took the stage to accept their diplomas. Then, seniors turned their tassels from right to left and  concluded the ceremony with the traditional cap toss.

TZHS Class of 2025, our entire South Orangetown Central School District wishes you the best as you embark on the next chapter…congratulations!
