Five Students, Two Alternates Selected for Annual NYSSMA Winter Conference
This news is music to our ears! Five SOCSD students, along with two alternates, have been named All-State selections in the upcoming (December 4-7) 2025 New York State School Music Association's (NYSSMA) Winter Conference in Rochester. Congratulations to: Alison Lattimer (Soprano, Treble Chorus); Luca DeCaro (Tenor 2, Mixed Chorus); Neil Oza (Cello, String Orchestra); Delia Spiegelman (French Horn, Wind Ensemble); Lukas Witek (Violin, Symphonic Orchestra); Esther Hwang (Violin, Alternate); and, Sean Han (Violin, Alternate)!
"This is a record number of students from Tappan Zee High School who have been selected and will represent our Music Department well in these ensembles," said teacher and Team Leader Russell Wagoner, DMA. "The countless hours of preparation in and commitment to earning perfect scores on their performances, along with sight-reading, speaks to their outstanding characters and abilities. We are extremely proud."
