Thank you to everyone who recently attended our Meet the Counselor Workshop for Freshman Parents, hosted by the Tappan Zee High School Counseling Department! Our professionals covered everything from their role in encouraging ninth graders to get involved in extracurriculars and meet like-minded people to challenging them to build a transcript that stands out by taking the most rigorous courses appropriate. Apart from preparing all students for academic success (both now and in the future), they are also here to provide social-emotional support. "If you feel like you need us to check in and touch base with your student or if the message that you're sending at home just isn't sinking in, that's why we're here," said School Counselor Jaime Holzer. "That's why we do this work. Please reach out to, call and use us."
