Levine, Carbonetti Appointed to Assistant Principalships
At its June 4 meeting, the Board of Education approved the appointment of Alex Levine, Ed.D. and Kevin Carbonetti to Assistant Principal posts at Tappan Zee High School, effective July 1.
“Welcome to the TZHS family, Dr. Levine and Mr. Carbonetti!" said Principal Melissa Luciano. "Both educators are wonderful additions to the team as they each bring fresh perspectives as we continue to provide a supportive environment at Tappan Zee High School."
Levine possesses a decade of building administration experience and has served as Acting Assistant Principal at TZHS since March 2024. In his current role, he has been responsible for coordinating the administration of Regents, PSAT, Advanced Placement examinations, conducting teacher observations; managing disciplinary and DASA investigations; and, participating in the District’s Social Studies and Technology Leadership teams. Levine is bilingual and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Music from SUNY Binghamton, a Master of Studies degree in Elementary Education from Fordham University, a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from Bank Street College and a Doctorate in Education from Manhattanville College in Educational Leadership. He holds several New York State certifications, including both School District Leader and School Building Leader, and is a member of the Administrative Regional Crisis Team. Levine succeeds Richard Neidhart who retired in March.
A veteran high school counselor and administrator, Carbonetti comes to TZHS from Oceanside High School where he has been the Associate Principal/Director of School Counseling since 2020. In his current district, Carbonetti supervises a team of high school counselors, the Office of NCAA Advisement, the Career Prep Office and the Attendance Office; creates the master schedule; conducts teacher observations; and, works closely with middle school administrators and counselors to coordinate articulation. Prior to his role as a building administrator, Carbonetti spent 11 years at Oceanside High School in school counseling and counseling leadership positions and as a varsity track coach. He possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling and Human Service from the University of Scranton and a Master of Science degree in School Counseling from Long Island University, CW Post Campus. Carbonetti is a certificated School Building Leader and School Counselor K-12. He will succeed Paul Frisch, who has accepted an opportunity in another district.
