SOCSD Provides Summer Volunteer and Internship Opportunities for 55 Students

SOCSD this summer has been pleased to provide hands-on, work-related experiences for dozens of Tappan Zee High School students AND recent alumni!

Over the last few weeks, 48 volunteers have been helping to carry out lessons during STEAM Camp (28) and the District's K-5 Summer Literacy Program (20); meanwhile, seven more are gaining valuable insight into the technology field as interns. Thank you to all those involved in not only supporting opportunities like these for our learners, but also inspiring them to become future educational professionals – especially: STEAM Camp Coordinator Samantha Levine; K-5 Summer Literacy Program Coordinator Kristy Nadler; Director of Technology George Brady, TZHS Computer Science teacher Karen Connell and the Southern Westchester BOCES Lower Hudson Regional Information Center.
