School Budget Vote & Board Election is May 20
The South Orangetown Central School District’s annual school budget vote and Board of Education elections will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 7:00AM-9:00PM.
On April 8, the Board of Education adopted the proposed 2025-26 budget, which totals $115,289,084 with a tax levy increase that remains within the mandated state cap at 2.31%. The Board will host its public budget hearing on Tuesday, May 13 at 7:30PM in the South Orangetown Middle School Library. Community members may ask questions regarding the budget at this meeting.
The ballot will also include an election for two Board of Education seats with three-year terms starting July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2028. The candidates names, in the order they will appear on the ballot based on a random selection process administered by the District Clerk, are:
Seat 1: Steven Finn (incumbent)
Seat 2: David Sansone (incumbent) and John Savage
