Summer 2025 Capital Construction Closures
Year 2 of our district-wide Capital Improvements Project kicks off June 26!
To accommodate construction across three of our schools, all summer enrichment programs will be held at South Orangetown Middle School. In addition, please be advised of the following safety restrictions on building and grounds access:
William O. Schaefer Elementary School
- WOS will be closed starting at 12PM on Thursday, June 26.
- Asbestos abatement will be conducted Saturday, July 5 through Saturday, July 19. In compliance with legal requirements, signage will be posted at building entrances while this work is in progress and strict adherence to all safety protocols will be closely monitored.
- WOS Main Office staff will be relocated during the abatement period, but will maintain access to their phone extensions and email.
- It is anticipated that the WOS Main Office will reopen on Monday, July 21.
Cottage Lane Elementary School
- CLE will be closed starting at 12PM on Thursday, June 26.
- Asbestos abatement will be conducted Saturday, July 5 through Saturday, July 19. In compliance with legal requirements, signage will be posted at building entrances while this work is in progress and strict adherence to all safety protocols will be closely monitored.
- CLE Main Office staff will be relocated during the abatement period and for subsequent network repairs, but will maintain access to their phone extensions and email.
- It is anticipated that the CLE Main Office will reopen on Monday, August 4.
Tappan Zee High School
- TZHS will be closed starting at 12PM on Thursday, June 26.
- Asbestos abatement will be conducted Saturday, July 5 through Saturday, July 19. In compliance with legal requirements, signage will be posted at building entrances while this work is in progress and strict adherence to all safety protocols will be closely monitored.
- TZHS Main Office staff will be relocated during the abatement period, but will maintain access to their phone extensions and email.
- It is anticipated that the TZHS Main Office will reopen on Monday, July 21.
