XLT Kicks Off Planning for 2025-26 School Year
Goal-setting was the focus of the District’s Extended Leadership Team annual retreat last Friday. School administrators, teachers and instructional coaches, along with Central Office leadership, crosswalked their Profiles of a Graduate with New York State requirements, reviewed student performance data and began developing benchmarks for the coming school year.
“The XLT Retreat has been our District’s goal-setting mechanism for the past 17 years. It’s always scheduled for the day after the last day of school so that we can reflect on the year while it’s fresh in our minds and plan forward for the next year,” said Superintendent of Schools Brian Culot, Ed.D. “The collective wisdom of this group, which is made up of teacher leaders and administrators and meets throughout each school year, drives our District’s mission and vision.”
The workshop, led by Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Rudy Arietta, Ed.D., Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services Karen Tesik, Ed.D. and Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Joe Lloyd, Ph.D., kicked off with an exercise reflecting on the highlights and challenges of the 2024-25 school year.
“We have a lot to be proud of,” Arietta noted. “We were able to take challenges and transform them into successes that we feel good about today. There will be new challenges ahead but, looking at the work we’ve done, we can do it.”
