Tappan Zee High School’s Class of 2022 celebrated its graduation on the Joseph J. Hickey Memorial Field this evening! TZHS Concert Band, under the direction of Music Department Team Leader William Hughes, kicked off the ceremony with selections from “Up,” before launching into the “Pomp and Circumstance” processional as our seniors walked out onto the field. President of Student Organization Kara Dixon led the Pledge to the Flag followed by the “Star Spangled Banner,” performed by senior choir members and conducted by Choral Director Russell Wagoner, DMA.

Principal Rudy Arietta congratulated the graduates and offered them seven life lessons to follow and concluded his speech saying, “I thank you for a great year, I wish you all the best in the future and I urge you to climb those mountains.”  Valedictorian and Class President Henry Huang and  Salutatorian and Class Treasurer Bettina LaGreca delivered speeches reflecting on memories from their time at TZHS and looking forward to the future. Arietta presented the Class of 2022 to Superintendent of Schools Robert Pritchard, Ed.D. officially declaring that the class met the requirements needed to officially graduate.

LaGreca and Class Secretary Victoria Pernick read aloud the class roll as seniors took the stage to accept their diplomas. Class of 2022 Vice President Brianna Santilli concluded the ceremony and congratulated her fellow classmates as they ceremoniously moved their tassels before throwing their caps in the air.
