In the recently released 2023 Niche Best Schools rankings, Tappan Zee High School rated first in Rockland County for the second consecutive year and 57th among 1,255 public high schools statewide. TZHS also ranked 50th for Best Public School Teachers in New York State.
“Receiving an honor like this is a recognition of the effort that our faculty puts into creating opportunities for our students to learn and grow in and out of the classroom and our students’ willingness to take on those challenges. We certainly don’t do what we do so that we can receive awards, but it is always nice to be recognized,” noted TZHS Principal Rudy Arietta.

The South Orangetown Central School District also earned a number of notable 2023 Niche rankings this year, rating second in the County (53rd out of 672 statewide) and 19th among the Best School Districts to Teach in New York State.
