South Orangetown Central School District

This month, original artwork created by Tappan Zee High School Art students will be displayed in the Tappan Library! The TZHS Art Department hosted the opening of the art exhibit last evening for students and their families to tour the exhibit.

The exhibit features artwork from students currently enrolled in classes such as Studio in Art, Graphic Arts and Media Design, 3-D Design and Drawing and Painting. “We have such talented students and hosting art exhibits like this allows the community to see the great work that’s happening in our classrooms every day. It’s really great exposure for the students to be recognized for their work,” said TZHS Art teacher Donna Grasso. “For some of the students, this is the first time they’re getting to display their artwork to people outside of their school so it’s a really great opportunity,” added TZHS Art teacher Leigh LaBrake.

Student artwork will be displayed through the end of February and students from South Orangetown Middle School and William O. Schaefer Elementary School will be hosting their own art shows at the Tappan Library this spring!
