South Orangetown Central School District

Director of Staff Relations Joseph Lloyd, PhD

Director of Staff Relations Joseph Lloyd, Ph.D. will offer guidance to prospective applicants at the annual Lower Hudson Council of School Personnel Administrators Diversity Teacher Job Fair on Saturday, March 4, 9AM-4PM. The workshop is titled, “Presenting Your Best Self: Cover Letter and Resume Advice.”

Job fair participants will have the opportunity to learn about the efforts of public school districts across Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties to build a more diverse workforce; gain insight into the recruitment and hiring process; and, meet with school district representatives to hear about anticipated vacancies.

This is the third consecutive year that SOCSD administrators have taken part in organizing and presenting at the job fair–one of several, ongoing initiatives to support and attract talented candidates. Recruitment efforts also include outreach in partnership with regional colleges, recruitment centers, NEMNET Diversity Recruitment and the OLAS online platform. SOCSD placed 19th among New York State public school districts in Niche.com’s 2023 Best Places to Teach rankings.

“Our district remains committed to recruiting and hiring diverse candidates who will support us in providing exceptional and personalized learning experiences for our students. The annual LHCSPA Diversity Teacher Job Fair features as an important event in our recruitment planning,” Lloyd said.

Advance registration is required for this free, virtual event. More information is available at www.lhcspa.org/2023-diversity-job-fair.
