Alex Levine, EdD

Alex Levine, Ed.D. was appointed by the Board of Education as Acting Assistant Principal at Tappan Zee High School at its March 7 meeting. Effective March 11, he will assume the duties of Richard Neidhart, who is on leave through June 30, 2024.

A seasoned school leader, Levine has eight years of combined experience as an assistant principal and principal. Most recently, he served as a substitute building administrator (grades 6-12) in the North Salem Central School District. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES Administrative Regional Crisis Team and Regional Leadership Institute Planning Committee. Prior to becoming an administrator, Levine spent 10 years as an elementary classroom teacher in the Hendrick Hudson School District.

Levine earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Music from SUNY Binghamton, a Master of Studies degree in Elementary Education from Fordham University, a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from Bank Street College and a Doctorate in Education from Manhattanville College in Educational Leadership. He holds several New York State certifications, including both School District Leader and School Building Leader.
