Mandatory Orientation Meeting: Thursday, September 14, 2017 @ 7pm in the TZHS Auditorium

Lecture Class Schedule – Class will meet on the following Mondays: September 18, 25; October 2, 16, 23, 30; November 6, 13, 20, 27; December 4, 11, 18; January 8, 29; February 5.

Lecture Class Requirements – All classes meet on Mondays, at either 3:30 or 5:05, and will be assigned at the orientation meeting. Please note: a requirement of the program, which is set by the NY State Education Department, is that you attend ALL 16 lecture classes. Failure to attend all classes, complete all assignments, quizzes, and exams and return book at the end of class will result in an INC grade and the Certificate of Completion will not be issued. The Certificate of Completion is required for you to obtain a senior license and to receive any insurance discounts. It is your responsibility to report to class on-time, sign in, and, if absent, get any work missed and handed in within one week with a reason for the absence. Work handed-in AFTER the course has ended, may result in an additional charge to correct work. It is also important to note that should class be cancelled due to snow closings, you will be assigned work and are required to complete the work. Failure to do so will result in your not receiving your certificate.

Behind the Wheel Driving Instruction – PAS Auto will assign your driving date and time, which is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and will be given out at the mandatory orientation meeting. The sooner your application is received the better your chance of getting the day and time you want. Again, it is your responsibility to be sure you are on time for your driving lesson and to make up any missed instruction. THE APPLICATION AND $485 FEE SHOULD BE SENT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, NOT HANDED IN AT THE MANDATORY MEETING. THIS AVOIDS LONG LINES AND SCHEDULING ISSUES AT THE MEETING. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN YOU NOT BEING ABLE TO TAKE THE COURSE.

Distribution of Certificate of Completion – Provided that you have completed all assignments, tests, quizzes, driving time, and returned the book received at the beginning of the class, certificates are typically available approximately one month after the completion of the course (barring any unforeseen circumstances, e.g., excessive cancellations due to weather). You will be contacted via email (please see below). It is your responsibility to safeguard your certificate or you will be charged $5 for a new certificate, which will take a few weeks to be re-issued.

Contact Information – Email is required on the application and must be legible. Please be sure to check your email on a regular basis; the driving school will use texting to notify students in the event a driving session has been cancelled. Director of Continuing Education Mrs. Terry Campanella will email applicants if she needs to contact you.
